Confident Communication Workshop
Confident Communication is a practical workshop for friends, relatives and carers of people who have Aphasia following a stroke, head injury or other neurological illness.
Professional carers may also benefit from this workshop, as it offers a valuable insight into the way that people with Aphasia feel about the care they receive and the way that others relate to them.
Details
- The workshop will look at the stress of becoming a carer overnight, and provide practical strategies to help with day-to-day communication.
- One of your trainers will be a person with Aphasia. They will explain how they felt in the early days, and what has helped them the most during their recovery.
- Each workshop consists of a small group of no more than 15 people.
- Cost: TBA - included in the cost of the workshop is a copy of our 'Workbook for Carers' (rrp £10). The workbook, written by speech and language therapists, is full of practical tips and ideas for providing support to a person with Aphasia.
Courses are run and located regionally, according to demand. To register your interest in attending a workshop or for further information, please telephone us on 020 7261 9572 or email us at [email protected].
